Mortgage rates fell this week on fears of a possible default on the nations debt. Rates fell to 6.67% on average on a 30-year fixed rate mortgage, down from last weeks 6.71%. The Federal Reserve continues to complain about a "too good" economy... the monthly job report came out last week showing even more people went to work and the Federal Reserve continues to see that as an overheated economy. As the Federal Reserve Chair said - this correction is going to hurt the average American... He is talking about hurting you... (scary huh?)
In the Louisville Real Estate Market, the housing market continues to remain in Hot Seller's Market territory. Today, 1,696 listings are live on the market here in the Louisville Multiple Listing Service. In the Lexington Multiple Listing Service we have 2,280 listings that are active and on the market. And in the Northern Kentucky Multiple Listing Service we have 679 for a combined total of 4,655 listings on the market. The absorption rate or months worth of inventory sits at 1.37 months continuing to indiciate a Seller's Market in Louisville, Kentucky.
