Today is an important day in our nation, and a very important day for me. Today is Patriot Day or Rememberance Day of the September 11th terrorist attacks that struck our country. It is also my wife's birthday so while we remember those who lost their lives that fateful day, we also reflect on another year for my wife and another year of us being together.

This week mortgage interest rates were on the rise, hitting an average of 5.66% this week. A rate of 5.7% would force the typical home buyer to spend nearly 25% of their annual income on a median-priced home. Luckily, here in Louisville and our surrounding areas, our median-priced homes are below the national average; so home buyer's still have time to catch a home. While rates continue to rise, these interest rates are not close to the average for the recording period of 8%. 5.66% is up from last weeks 5.55%, as the Federal Reserve continues to raise interest rates to help slow inflation, mortgage interest rates and home prices continue their rise.

In the Louisville Real Estate Market the shift is still being seen in spectacular fashion. Today, 2,107 listings are live and on the market here in the Louisville Multiple Listing Service. In the Lexington Multiple Listing Service we have 2,632 listings that are live on the market. And in the Northern Kentucky Multiple Listing Service we have 770 for a combined total of 5,509 listings on the market. So, if you are looking for a home in our area, know that tehre are homes available for sale all over the place!

If you or someone you know has questions about the real estate market, or you would like a personal neighborhood market report don't hesitate to reach out and ask. You can also visit my website www.shopkentuckyhomes.com - and enter your zip code to receive a market report as well.

Don't try to navigate this choppy housing market alone, have confidence by having a professional by your side during your real estate transaction.
