Another Sunday and here is your Weekly Real Estate Newsletter - Hug a Sheep Day. Today we celebrate all that sheep do for us, everything from their wool for our coats, to their meaning in ancient days. If you like sheep, or own a sheep, hug your sheep today.

This week mortgage interest rates surged this week of the Halloween holiday, hitting an average of 7.08% this week, the highest average weekly rate since April 2002.  The 30-year fixed rate mortgage averaged 3.09% one year ago. The 15-year fixed rate mortgage may save a little money it averaged 6.36% this week. The 5-year Hybrid Adjustable Rate Mortgages averaged 5.96% this week. All indiciations are that rates are going to continue to go higher, as the Federal Reserve continues to try and "slow inflation."

In the Louisville Real Estate Market however, the housing market continues to remain in Hot Seller's Market territory. Today, 2,240 listings are live and on the market here in the Louisville Multiple Listing Service. In the Lexington Multiple Listing Service we have 2,802 listings that are live on the market. And in the Northern Kentucky Multiple Listing Service we have 840 for a combined total of 5,882 listings on the market. The absorption rate or months worth of inventory sits at 1.51 indiciating a Seller's Market.

If you or someone you know has questions about the real estate market, or you would like a personal neighborhood market report don't hesitate to reach out and ask. You can also visit my website www.shopkentuckyhomes.com - and enter your zip code to receive a market report as well.

Don't try to navigate this changing housing market alone, have confidence by having a professional by your side during your real estate transaction.
