Another Sunday and here is your Weekly Real Estate Newsletter - World Kindness Day. Today we should be kind to everyone we meet like everyday, let there be kindness in our hearts and minds as we interact through our days.
This week mortgage interest rates rose back above the 7% market again this week. Rates rose to an average of 7.08% this week, after hitting the 20-year high two weeks ago. The housing market is the most interest rate-sensitive part of the economy. The 30-year fixed rate mortgage averaged 2.98% one year ago. The 15-year fixed rate mortgage may save a little money it averaged 6.38% this week. The 5-year Hybrid Adjustable Rate Mortgages averaged 6.06% this week. As the Federal Reserve continues to ratchet up Treasury Rates in order to fight inflation, the mortgage interest rates have continued to follow suit.
In the Louisville Real Estate Market however, the housing market continues to remain in Hot Seller's Market territory. Today, 2,253 listings are live and on the market here in the Louisville Multiple Listing Service. In the Lexington Multiple Listing Service we have 2,765 listings that are live on the market. And in the Northern Kentucky Multiple Listing Service we have 832 for a combined total of 5,850 listings on the market. The absorption rate or months worth of inventory sits at 1.61 indiciating a Seller's Market.
If you or someone you know has questions about the real estate market, or you would like a personal neighborhood market report don't hesitate to reach out and ask. You can also visit my website www.shopkentuckyhomes.com - and enter your zip code to receive a market report as well.
